Youth Shelters

A group of young people using the Northants shelters

Based on a Danish design, these environmentally-friendly shelters have been built by our craftsmen, and are made from timber grown in local woodlands. The shelters are nestled in the heart of the ancient Royal Hunting Forest of Rockingham. They are situated in both Fineshade and Fermyn Woods, and it is possible to hike between them, if you wish. Both sites have a purpose-built fire site and a composting toilet.

Snuggled up in your sleeping bag in the shelters, you can immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the woodlands. A truly unique experience! These shelters are available to be hired by groups with Public Liability Insurance. Our local school children, scout & guide troops and Duke of Edinburgh students all love staying in them!
