Kostas has gradually progressed through various GIS roles starting as a GIS analyst at a SME in Greece where he worked on the national forest mapping project. He then moved on to become a self-employed GIS consultant during the first year of the Greek financial crisis but quickly decided to move abroad and collaborated with the Department of Forests in Cyprus for a LIFE+ project as a GIS specialist and project assistant. In 2013 he migrated to the UK and Edinburgh as he accepted the job of the GIS Manager for Forest Enterprise Scotland. In 2015 he was offered the vacant post of the Geospatial Data Manager in Operational Support, a role which he still holds today.

Kostas has also participated in a FP6 EU-funded program called FIRE PARADOX where he provided GIS technical support and analysis services as described on a relevant paper he contributed to.  His experience and expertise mainly involve scripting and automating geoprocessing tasks, geographic analysis and data modelling.
